It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
