The star has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the trust for venues, which works to preserve the United Kingdom's independent concert spaces.

He was presented with the award on mid-October as his new release his work was named the top album of the last 12 months.

Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots had in his early career.

"As an artist wouldn't be doing this success if it weren't for all the gigs I played around the area, and further afield, when I was beginning," said Sam Fender. "These venues are renowned, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the total UK scene.

In the last year, well-known musicians such as Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by adding a modest fee to their ticket costs, which supports smaller concert halls.

He also participated, collecting over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous local spots across the UK.

The donation assisted spaces that were facing potential shutdown due to difficulties caused by floods, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, court cases and noise complaints.

Some locations received monetary aid in improving facilities and sound and lighting systems that directly benefitted musicians and fans.

"The concept that money from shows in major spaces backs the smaller venues, where it all starts for artists like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has said.

The musician is not the first artist to donate his honor winnings to good deeds.

Back when Pulp earned the prize in the mid-90s for their album the album, vocalist Cocker announced that the band would donate their prize money to the charity the charity.

In 2002, artist she shared her bounty between a few charities, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to the center, to their classes, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked better apparatus," she shared with the media.

Two years ago, the band contributed their winnings to the community center that nurtured their act, as well as other grassroots music organisations.

Additionally winners that year M People donated their prize to a MS organization after a friend was identified with the condition.

"The victory was sufficient," said vocalist the singer. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory affected the lives of others."

Recently, the trust announced it had rescued several small stages in that region, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The first in that area and the second in the city were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
